Retinoblastoma is a malignant tumor of the retina of the eye. Mostly affects children under 5 years of age. In 75% it manifests itself only in one eye, while in 25% in both eyes.

Symptoms: When the light falls on the pupil of the eye, it appears white and is permanently enlarged (in mydriasis). It is often accompanied by pain in the eye.

In the initial stages, if the tumor has not spread outside the eye, it is treated with radiotherapy, chemotherapy and photocoagulation. At an advanced stage, it is most likely that the eye will have to be extracted. In mild cases or in those that were treated early, vision appears significantly reduced and conventional glasses are probably not enough. The solution is given with special low-vision glasses so as not to lazy the eye and soon improve its visual acuity.
